three pages of search engine returned results for a specific
legal keyword or
legal keyword (two to four words) phrase. AOL, Google,MSN,AltaVista
will be the
engines used to determine ranking.
Sites not ranking on the first
three pages of returned results may still qualify for the Award by
having a content
rich well designed
legal related site that
provides useful, instructive information to the
general public seeking legal assistance.
Paid position rankings (such as those that may be obtained by bidding
on terms through
a pay-for-click search engine ( like: Overture.com) do not qualify.
The search term used to determine the rank may not be the specific
name of a business,
individual, or the exact name of the web site.
For example:
John Smith
CA lawyer - does not qualify.
CA lawyer - qualifies
Pages that in our sole option may be "spamming" to achieve a top
ranking do not qualify.
Cloaked pages do not qualify.
